We had a guy running for Sheriff a few years back using an address virtually everybody in the county knew he didn't live at. People watched the house for days at a time and there was no movement at all, no lights on at night, no vehicles in and out, no mail delivered. People filed complaints with the state elections office, but he was able to provide utility bills in his name.

Problem became apparent on election day when the turd got enough votes to throw the election to an (R) that wasn't qualified. It was only a few hundred votes, but in a county of a few thousand it made the difference and the race was decided on less votes than he got.

Given the Trump team's lack of understanding of how transitions work after the 2016 election, the good senator would have served the public interest better by sending the letter to Trump.

Don't be surprised if it goes national and every funding is cut except for US citizens.

I am split on how far MAGA can really take it..

Option 1: us having a choice to act as unpaid slaves for Corporate America for the rest of our lives or having to walk on mines and blow up into pieces for their appeasement!

Option 2: us having to sacrifice DACA, Immigration Act of 1965 (family chain migration), Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, WIC, Energy Subsidies and absolutely nothing for free anymore but we get to stay US citizens under their "protection"!

I don't think the "goody good" of America that you remember before is going to survive without a national divorce..

Remember he won the popular vote.. and has gained voters in every election.. there's a clear mandate and he and MAGA will push hard!

AND if he runs for a 3rd term.. he'll get it with even more votes than this time!

So reading the article. It is for Medicaid coverage

Eligibility for children at the federal level says children can get it regardless of the parents status

I say fuck the entire state and have all Medicaid coverage at the federal level be halted

As a side-issue - so much for the right's concern with 'free speech'. Threatening to defund a hospital because one doctor made a statement that was factually correct but which Abbott didn't like.
Typical hypocrisy from conservatives.

That's an easy argument in hindsight, but the counter point (as has been stated around here since this all started) is that there has never been a case in modern history where the incumbent is seriously primaried. It's either been a re-election campaign, or they willingly drop out (LBJ).

I was screaming for that to happen back then and so were many others. In fact polling of registered Democrats all said the majority didn't want Biden to run again.

So no, many many of us were yelling it and saying it back then, but Biden's ego, and much of the Democratic establishment, completely fucked us over

And yet no one ran against him except for a congressman who no one has ever heard of outside of his immediate family. Why? Because it never happens.

You can point to all kinds of push polls where there is no other option besides Biden and generic D. Those always go that way (for more races than President) when the candidate in question isn't riding high approval ratings. But the problem is there has to be someone else to actually take the place of "generic D" in the real world. And in that real world, there really wasn't another candidate that could realistically take his place other than Harris and you end up right where you did anyway. If you pass her over, you can kiss goodbye a large part of the coalition that was responsible for getting Biden/Harris elected in the first place. You do that, and it's already game over.

And as long as we're wishing for impossibilities ... I want a unicorn.

I think you've said this same nonsense before. Nobody was going to primary an incumbent and cause a civil war in the Dem party, it was on Biden to keep his promise to be a one term president and read the room of his own base not wanting him to run again. the fact you are still willfully misleading about this is pathetic.

but because of alternative reality delusional folks with the same attitude as your nonsense, Biden's run again was defended.

The point is that surely those around Biden must have noticed he was becoming worrying decrepit long before that debate? Why did nobody, therefore, have a word with him about standing down long before it got to that point? And if there was no other candidate who could realistically take his place (when it must have been obvious he wasn't in a state to be exposed to public scrutiny) does that not say something about the Democratic party in general?
 
Bernie was their chance to differentiate and make a difference. They chose to do neither.

Biden's energy really did cause harm. He was unable to fight/promote things adequately and even on good days he was awkwardly frail causing many to tune him out a long time ago. He was an easy target in that and it made a difference. It provided many talking points for Trump, but also some vindication. Something Trump relies on to keep the grift going.

Biden never said he was a one term president, he said he was "transitional". They're not the same thing, even though you interpret it that way.

And I'm glad you've reverted back to your usual emotional/over reactive self. We all missed that around here. /s

I'm sure there was, but it's not like the same couldn't have been said for Reagan in '84 either. And he was much much worse on a far more frequent scale than a terrible debate and some so-so interviews afterwards.
 
Guys Biden should have known he was vulnerable, it happened to Carter & Bush. For the party it would have been helpful for him to not run n again.
Doesn’t qualify for f this guy in my opinion however I can certainly see how it could be viewed as f this guy.
