F@H

Any negatives to this? Will it slow F@H down, or will it kill my flash drive somehow? I doubt it would to either question, but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

I don't know - I've run S@H and E@H, hasn't cracked yet (though I suspect it might take some write cycles off the life).

check out the forums here:

http://overclockix.octeams.com/

i was around there for a while when dabbiling with F@H and linux (which i'll probably be getting back into shortely)

if you find any good info which may be usefull to others, please pass it on 🙂

F@H will run from a USB Flash drive. It should only run a second or so slower because it takes a little longer to write to a flash drive.

If the computer crashes or loses power you could lose some work easier than when running from hard drive with NTFS file system.

In the long run it will shorten your flash drives life (they have a limited number of re-writes) ,but having said that if F@H doesn't write back much it'd probably take years.

Well, heck with MicroCenter here selling 1G flash drives for $16, you can buy a bunch and keep them on hand. Backup the folder everyonce in awhile and you'll be good to go. 🙂

Sheesh, I used to pay $16 for floppy drives.

1G USB Drives

Awesome, might need to buy a couple of those.

I've been running off of a flash drive for a few days so far, everything seems to work great.
