TeAm F@H don't forget if you have plenty of memory (512MB for most users, or 256MB for dedicated crunchers/occasional websurfers) you can get a 50% bonus on the larger WU's.

see here for details on the setup, and reason for the extra production boost.
I have a quick question about this. I've been working on one of the bigger WU's, and it took me almost a day and a half of full computing (without turning off my PC, no other processor-intensive things ran during that time) to get it done.

I could finish up about 2 WU's a day using the regular size units. Do you think I would get more points really in the long run, and be more beneficial to the team if I just used the regular sized units?

If it makes any difference, I'm running on an athlon xp 1800, with 512mb of DDR ram.

Thanks for any advice!

I use FAH LogStats monitoring program to find out how many points per day (ppd) my computer gets for each WU. It is a very simple to use free program. There is a link to it in the Info link in my sig.

We need someone with an AMD rig to use a monitoring program to compare these BigWUs ppd against what they usually get with other regular WUs, in particular a high ppd Tinker.

Data like this:
On my P4 3.0@3.2 with 1GB of ram, I get 130 ppd to 150 ppd doing regular WUs (a few are higher and a few lower). With the BigWUs I get over 175 ppd. These numbers are when running one instance on the HT CPU.
When I run two instances, I get over 210 ppd total.

I check ppd after the client has finished a frame when I have not used the computer during that frame.

Thanks :)

:)
Statistically speaking, based on a very small sample, I'd say I'm pulling in an extra few points since I switched to the bonus WUs.

I added an XP1800 512 on the big -advmethods units, and it's adding a lot to my total. (more than the other xp1800)

my daily average when putting my 2 athlon XP rigs (2500+ @ 12.5x168 and a laptop with a 2200+M running the F@H client @75% {it gets too hot and my fan stays on full speed}) on this went from ~215 to ~320 points per day, from what I've been watching on these stats at Extreme OC. Seems like a good boost to me.

my other rigs are a 933 P3 @70% (old case gets too warm and the system locks up, also not running advmethods because it hosts my web site....see sig) and a 2100+ non-OC'd running the client 100% without the advmethods (I haven't had time to go to my wifes office to change it).

I'd use the -advmethods on my desktop but running two instances makes it too much of a constraint on my measly gig of RAM, but I am running it on my laptop (A64 3000+ @ 3200+) which mainly gets used for web\word\note taking\downloading.
