Hey Co-DC-ers: Hyperfocal and all the others who do stats appreciate your thanks, I'm sure, but is necessary every day? Seems like a lot of clutter in forum database. Really doesn't need to be bumped, as simply search on "F@H" brings them all up.

I have noticed the opposite problem! I want to look at F@H's one post a day (which we all generally post under), but have to sort through a 9,000 messages a day about SETI with such brilliant and repetitious topics such as:

01. I got XXXXX work units today, please praise me! (usually 10 of these)
02. We are going to be passed by XXXXXX if we don't get help! (usually 10 of these, too)
03. The XXXXXXX seti-que is down.
04. The XXXXXXX seti-que is up.
05. How do I connect to this seti-que?
06. I got XXXXX work units today, please praise me! (usually 10 more of these)
07. How many WUs can I get on a 386?
08. How many WU's can I get on a 486?
09. How many WU's can I get on a [enter a processor here]?
10. Statistics from the SETI XXXXX MTR.

Personally, I think the daily stats posts are beneficial or I wouldn't be doing them in Jliechty's absence.

Our F@H team is set to drop three positions in the standings this year if nothing changes🙁 and we need all the TeAmmates we can get. If F@H stats are dropped to weekly, I suspect fewer people will join the TeAm and our situation will get worse over time.

I'm not trying to knock SETI, since I have one rig running SETI, but they are the 500lb gorilla of the DC world. We need to keep F@H visible and daily stats posts serve that purpose.

If a majority want the stats to be done weekly, that is OK -- it's less work for me, but I think it is worthwhile.😀

Miscommunication. Daily Stats are VERY useful and I am very thankful to Hyperfocal here and others in other projects. The "Thanks" entries from a dozen people every day is what I'm talking about.

Seriously, Hyperfocal is right, seti is a very worthwhile project that commands the lions share of our TeAm. We are not a monster team such as Ars that can have a major presence in most of the DC projects.
Being a stats junkie, the daily stats are most welcome to me. I do not post to every one, but try to contribute to the TA community now and again.
The daily posts are also used as an advertising tool of sorts for our F@H TeAm, like it or not. Those interested may like the casual comraderie displayed in those threads and decide to help crunch.
As others have stated, our F@H TeAm is going to lose a few positions in the overall rankings this year. Not that the rankings are the main reason for crunching, but when ya do something you want to succeed as best you can. We need more active members obviously, and that little ol' stats thread needs face time to help our cause.
There were several people that voted Josh the MVP of our F@H TeAm, who cited the fact that it was the stats threads he was doing daily that got them intersted. Mucho thanx to Hyperfocal for keeping the tradition going til J makes it back.
If you are so inclined, maybe start a weekly recap thread for your favorite project. Maybe have a specific title that could be easily searched.......
anyhoo, enough babbling, I have to take a flight in the morning and I always get too nervous and start babbling and... aww heck with it 😉
