You can buy my two 8800gts cards.... (not that I would turn around and buy mates for my two 9800GTX+ or anything... promise  )

edit: It's going to be a little tough doing apples-apples comparison with these two extra SMPs going. I'll have to b'gosh it a llittle. My mix of WUs changes pretty rapidly.

It looks like the GPUs are only very slightly affected, so we'll call them the same.

With two SMPs, a P2653 went from a single getting ~2,840 to a pair getting ~1,835 each. So I've gained about 800 PPD So that's +29% if only the SMPs are considered. (I'm gloating about my SWAG of 25% 😛 )

That will put me >16K PPD per PC if I had a full load of only the juiciest WUs 😎

Here's a screenie.. (one short of a full load)

I may only have 2 PCs, but you gotta admit... I get the most out of them 😛

Very nice Sid, you seem to be getting the most out of your 2 rigs. Thats great. Oh, I knew you wanted to do it....hehe... The results will start showing up tomorrow. 🙂 Keep us informed.

I am pretty impressed so far on the Temps with my cards with this new WU. Much better and I hope it continues with future WU's.

BTW, I just had to roll my 260 card back to 178.28. There was definitely something wrong, it was consistantly at 1600 ppd after the new drivers (I mean every step for hours) After the update, its back to 5400 ppd. The rest of the farm seems OK. Maybe its because that one is on a celeron ? or a P965 chipset or ???

Did you remember to uninstall PhysX and the drivers before installing new ones? It's probably some other obscure detail....But this all I can think of atm.

-Sid

for all the 11 machines, I just installed the drivers over the old. Why would the celeron be different ? Maybe the drivers require SSE or 2 or 3 or ?? And the celeron doesn't have that ?
