Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

i just put my x1900xt in different box and am getting something similar :|

I have a hunch it may be the PSU or voltages in my new box... will report on results later

I had done that, and created a profile just for folding where the voltages were correct, but I forgot to make it my default. Ooops! 😱

Well, I've gotten as far as "completed 1" now, so I think its actually working!

We'll see soon enough, but hopefully this thread can at last be put to rest!

Thanks to all for your suggestions, especially CupCak3 and GLeeM!

Looking forward to (at least) doubling my PPD, go teAm!

It was our GPU guru, CupCak3, that helped! I was taking stabs in the dark as I haven't run this thing yet although I hope to soon.

Just remember that there are quite a few WUs that will EUE just because 😕 so don't get discouraged if a few do.

Wow, so the default voltages on your card were incorrect out of the box? Is that something that can be fixed with a bios reflash?

how do i set up so i can run 1 instance on cpu and one on gpu? i keep getting the "already f@h running" box with the gui install of the cpu version

I think I read somewhere that you need to have one CPU available to run with the GPU. So, you can't run two instances unless you have a dual core CPU..

I"m glad we could help Cuhulainn 🙂

do i need the command line version of the cpu version? i just set the gpu one to machine id 2 and still got the box. anything else i need to change in the cfg file?

quick update,

i d/l the command client, moved over the cfg file and data file info and work folder into a folder called folding cpu, then moved all the info for the gpu one into a folder called folding gpu. made the gpu machine id 2, cpu one id 1 and both are working now. then put a short to each one on the desktop. seems the gpu one takes quite a bit out of computing, and just out of curiosity, why is it using so many cpu cycles? i thought it worked on the gpu, but if i have it to 100% it will utilize 1 core by itself. i have to run the cpu one at 90% and the gpu one @ 75% or else the machine is very sluggish.

just out of curiosity, how do i see how far along the command line one is?

thanks in advance,
bob

The current GPU client takes a lot of CPU time, but the F@H scoring reflects this. For now, GPU systems earn about 660 points per day while the GPU client is in beta instead of 440.
