F@H Console Client

I've been running the FAH3.25-Console-beta using the FireDaemon service so I can hide folding completely. Something weird has been happening, and the client seems to be outputting everything to the desktop. I've got the MyFolding.html, queue.dat, FahCore_78.exe, FAHlog.txt just floating out on my desktop. Why is the client outputting them here, rather than where the client is located (C:\Program Files\Folding)? Thanks for your help.

Check your FireDaemon service configuration.

Sounds like you mis-specified the working directory

Hmm, that's different. I assume you're running the client with "-service", right? Anyway, I'm totally not sure why it's doing that. Try adding "-verbosity 9", restart the client, and then see if you get some info in FAHlog.txt. Other than that, all I can suggest is to check the permissions (assuming you use NTFS) on the files in \Program Files\Folding\ to make sure nothing's amiss.

ohhh, I'm not running with the service parameter, what exactly does that do?
That keeps the core from exiting when you log out, thus preventing the client from getting stalled. It may do other things that I'm not aware of.
