I can't get the flashlight to work. Was I suppose to pick up one somewhere to have this option?

I forgot, but I thought you just had one by default in your inventory.

Anyhow, I can't remember, but pushing the F key on the keyboard that I have defaulted for the flashlight isn't doing anything.

Boo hoo I'm lost in the dark. 🙁

Anyone?
 
Check your key binding. Also if your battery is dead you have to wait a few seconds for it to recharge.

I did, and I changed it also, added on the letter ---> L

See my F, and L keys works -----> FFFfff LLllll, my keyboard I thought might of had a bad key in it. 😉

Is the flashlight something that is automatically in the inventory?

I'm wondering if this is a bug, from using the cheat, "maphole" for jumping to next level. Because I reinstalled the box and forgot to save my game, so I used maphole to jump me up to where I was in the game, and then started playing it again.

 
A little bit off topic, but the flashlight bothers me in games these days.

Why would the flashlight only last the 1 minute it does? Heck, a maglight will go for hours without replacing batteries. But, whatever... It just seems with every game that introduced the flashlight put a very short timer on it.
 
i think its z or something the game is really scarrly i only played like 20 mins scared me like heck when the girl came 🙁

Z?

I have it set to F and L, and when I press both of these keys nothing happens. This SUCKS, because I'm the Hot LZ section where the helicopter drops you off on the roof of a building and I'm inside the building now, trying to find the network to shut down, and it's DARK.

Ahhhh where is my flashlight. 🙁
 
If I remember right (and I may not be), there are a couple points int he game where you lose the flashlight..

But since you're using a hack, who knows..
 
If i remember correctly, I had the flashlight binded to one of the keys on my number pad. However evertime I restarted the game, it would forget and I would have to rebind the key for the flashlight.

i do hate how it only lasts like 30 seconds. i should be able to leave it on forever if i wanted to. i wonder if there is a cheat for that? hmm...
 
i think the most logical explanation is because you hacked up to get back to your previous progress. This is a bug in many games, when you quick save or if you just do what you did it can cause errors and glitches in game. You should try the cheat again, or find a different one, if all else fails then you might have to start from scratch.

Or just find someone with a saved game at the level you restarted at.. Load that.. Good to go
 
Flashlight never ran out in Doom3, if it did , I don't think it would be possible to play the game because it is pitch black in spots.

Is Doom 3 even worth playing? I played it for like an hour then uninstalled it because I was bored of the game. Now I just finished Quake 4, and liked it. Is Q4 a much superior game on the D3 engine than doom?

Q4 and Doom 3 are about the same to me. Doom 3 is better early, Quake 4 stays a constant. Both are better than FEAR.

The flashlight is only on certain guns in fear. I remember how annoying it was when I had the shotgun and would hit the flashlight button only to find it had switched weapons to a gun with no ammo and I'd get the smackdown laid on me. I mean, as much smackdown as is possible in a game this easy.

when using maphole, when you get to the map which begins with you being helped from the ground by the female character (three, i think), wait until you are completely up before you maphole to the next map. your flashlight will disappear if you don't.

YEAH IT WORKS, oh well I'll have to start LZ is Hot over, no biggie, least I have me light back, WoOt. 😉

I think you're thinking of Quake 4 because in Fear the flashlight is not tied to any guns (i.e. it's just an inventory item).

Hmm... could be, I did play them both around the same time and they were both completely unmemorable.
