F.E.A.R. Resolutions...

In the fear demo you can't set the game's resolution to 1280x1024 is the full version the same? If so I doubt I will buy it...

you can in the full version by editing the config file for it.

What about people with 17"+ LCDs? If they didn't know about editing the file, would the game just look crap?

1280x960 doesn't look that bad on a 5:4 LCD, but 1280x1024 is always best.

yeah you gotta edit a file.....whilst for me at least the demo had higher res in it

Ya but thats the point, the highest resolution in the demo is 1152x864 not even an even(?) resolution. 1280x960 is not even an option.

It must be pulling that from your monitor because my demo has several resolutions over 1280x960 including 1600x1200 all the way up to 2048x1536 on my 21" CRT.
Unfortunately for me my 9700 pro only wants to run smoothly at 800x600. Every now and then I'll throw 1024x768 at it though.
Guess it's time to get a X850XT from Hot Deals once I get some Christmas $$$.

Its not. Im running a 7800Gt with a 19" Viewsonic LCD and only see 1152 as the maximum resolution. Im guessing that they figure anything over that is going to slow the framerate down too much with everything turned on.

Maybe its a LCD issue? I am running 2 x 7800GTs with a 17" LCD. Probably the 17" version of the 19" you have. (vx724)
