F.E.A.R or Q4 on the 18th??

I've just finished building my rig, i bought far cry for 10$ last night, it was alright, but then i decided on a whim to d/l the F.E.A.R multiplayer demo because I'm not sure which game to buy on the 18th (Q4 or Fear). But now I'm leaning heavily to Fear... its so fast paced.. granted, I haven't tried BF2 yet..

I will be waiting for the first major patches to be released for both games before I buy either. Although, I am looking forward to some good story based action in FEAR.
 
I dont wanna get into the whole F.E.A.R vs Doom 3 debate, but after playing the demo I believe F.E.A.R to be MUCH better game. And since I didnt care for doom3, and am still pissed at Id, I may not get Quake 4. I loved 1 and 2.
3 kinda ticked me off, and Id is still on my black list. I may look into Q4 after the price goes down. Am especially angry that the DVD version costs 10 bucks more. DVD should be the freaking standard by now.

Am actually more interested in games like Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and Supreme Commander. Not the mention the Warhammer expansion that still hasnt arrived in the mail.
 
FEAR looks to be the superior game, singleplayer and maybe even multiplayer depending on who you ask. Quake 4 looks like the biggest turd of an attempt at a cash cow I've ever seen. However, I've yet to even touch the controls of the game, so my opinion means jack squat at the moment.
 
FEAR looks like a good single player game.. I really didn't like the multiplayer.

I played Quake 4 Multiplayer at Quakecon. It feels like a solid DM but more like just trying to be Like Q2/Q3.. I thought it was fun so I will be getting Q4 on release date.
 
I'm thinking Q4 will have more replay value. I'm hoping it will be a good game, which it will be if it puts the D3 engine to good use with an actually solid single-player campaign.

Where'd you get Far Cry for $10?

Currently playing :
Black and white 2 > pc 90% finish "finally about to destroy aztech"
Age of empire 3 > pc 30% finished
Rome total war expansion > pc Find the expansion crap 🙁
Warhammer 40K expansion > pc finished the 1st campaign in 2hr ;(
Farcry Instinct > xbox 90% finished , love the new crazy power ;( love setting up tree branch trap and leading the enemy into them 🙂
SOCOM 3 > ps2 Err singleplayer is cool but don't like it much
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks > ps2 Awesome game where you sensily kill as many people 😉 🙂
Phoenix Wright > ds Crazy game with lots of reading and i love to shout at my DS saying "i object"
Burnout Legends > psp Love the game and it sort of like Burnout takedown 3 + 2.
DOD : source > love this game to death , my fav online game and the reason i haven't played bf2 for while.

Yes i play alot of game and half the time i never compete them ;(.

FEAR single player FTW!
Q4 multiplayer FTW!

Oh, & to to whoever mentioned FEAR was fast paced...no it's not.
Q3 or UT2k4 are games that are fast paced.

FEAR is slow, very slow like all the other boring fps out there.

I'm hoping Q4 will be quick & crazy like Q3 was 🙂
 
definitely getting FEAR and maybe COD2.

question about Q4, is the single player like DM, or is there an actual story type single player campaign?

There is an actual single-player campaign (unlike Quake 3), the story picks up after Quake 2. According to the reviews, it sounds like more emphasis was actually placed on the single player campaign in this one.... which is not bad for me since I actually don't play online much.

I hear you man, I don't have time to play games as much as I want (who does). I collect games more than I play them. Not to mention the GF hates hearing the sound of them.

Not Bad.... that game should keep you occupied for awhile though, 🙂
 
Fear has gotten better reviews, and i heard ID skimped out on Q4's multiplayer options. I'll stick with DOD:S and wait for Call of Duty 2 for now...

You can DL the full demo of FEAR! And if you like it, go buy the full game.

I just beat Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Indigo Prophecy, and Total Overdose. 50% into Bet on Soldier. 20% into Ultimate Spiderman. 20% into Fate. 5% in Devil May Cry 3. 10% into Batallion Wars. 10% into Metroid Prime Echoes. Haven't started MGS3 or Xmen Legends 2 yet. Want to buy Serious Sam 2, Quake4, FEAR, AOE3, X3, Fire Emblem and The Warriors.
