BUSH TO SEEK BIG BUDGET INCREASE FOR NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS... Laura Bush plans to announce the request -- for the largest increase in two decades -- on Thursday... Developing...

OK, so, he's run up non-defense spending like nobody's business, the stupid prescription drugs entitlement, the amnesty for law breaking illegals, and now the NEA!

The guy is a friggen selling his party out to try and win over some whiney libs. To hell with the sell-out Bush, and to hell with our whole political system. I was gonna vote for Bush over Kerry (if he becomes the nom) but now I'll vote for Kerry, just because of his vietnam service, even though I don't agree with him on anything, just so I can spite that sell out POS Bush.

The guy is just so damn spineless.

He had his big Mars/Moon initiative (which I only partially agree with), it didn't do too great in the polls, so he just dropped it...FRICKEN STAND UP in the state of the union and sell it to the American people you damn whimpering fool.

And what pray tell do you plan on doing about this? Vote for dean? kerry? If spending items get your goat - write your Congress critter and Bush about it. Hell, I had a nice short 3min conversation with one of mine the other week at the Republican caucus here. Grassley(who chairs the finance commitee) got an ear full about spending;) It wasn't just me either, the others standing near us seemed to like my line of questioning.

Let's just make sure we put a little perspective to all this though. Bush has spent alot, and alot has gone to the defense of this nation, but yes - alot has been spent on unneeded drug subsidies for old people. But remember - the other side of the isle isn't really complaining about the overspending - they are whining about not spending ENOUGH money on things you and I don't think they should be spending on. Bush and the Republicans in Congress know people like you and I are upset about the level of spending - lets hope they don't continue to ignore the spending problem that seems as pervasive as ever in Washington.

Now to you who are trying to claim victory by someone(Conservative) being upset with Bush because xxx - it's a shallow one at best. His ideals haven't changed, he's not becoming like you, he's just upset that Bush seems to be doing some off-roading. One doesn't change from Conservative to Liberal just because they don't agree with what a Republican as president is doing(unless they are doing drugs;)).

so, youre going to vote into office someone whom you dont agree with at all [but apperaently have a lot fo respect for]? i know the frustrations you have with Bush, because I share a few of them, but, unfortunately for you, you're not going to be teaching Bush or the Republicans any lesson. All you're going to do is help your enemy.

Oh well, to each his own I suppose, but I just wish more people used logical thinking when they decided they wanted to teach a lesson to someone who has wronged them.

I guess his logic is that...

You expect your enemy to st@b you, but not your friend. So you get pissed off more when your friend st@b you in the back.

Yes yes, he's not conservative enough, so I'm gonna vote for someone more liberal.

Not.

It's pretty sad when one considers members of the other party to be the "enemy". I thought al Qaida was the enemy. Those Americans on the other side of the aisle are the "opposition" or the "other party".

Oh but anyway - whatever happened with that whole Rush thing? Have they thought up a new charge yet? Take your answer to a different thread please:D

Anyway - no Rush is a Conservative and has criticized Bush on many things. One thing Rush will never do, is turn into a liberal. If they couldn't turn him in rehab - then it won't ever happen;)

I'm the kind of guy who'd cut off his nose to spite his face. Bush is selling his soul for votes he's not even gonna get anyways, so I say to hell with him. I'd rather we lose this election and learn from our mistakes.

Of course, maybe I'm wrong about Bush and he's gonna "propse" all this lefty legislaton, win reelection, then come back in Darth Vader mode in 05.

He could smash all the labor unions, chop off about 50% of non military government spending, put armed guards on the borders, outlaw abortion, and get some storm troopers to start hunting down hippies. If that were true, then I suppose I could vote for him again.

I don't think it is though, so to hell with him.

Yeah, pretty sad, especially since howie has compared President Bush to the Taliban and calls him "the enemy" and "despicable." Bush is an American and I thought the Taliban was the enemy....guess dean thinks differently.;)

Hmmm. Good question. What else might one call them? Think, think, think. Oh dear, if only I'd given you a clue.

I did not take your sentence out of context. It is sad that you consider other Americans your enemy. It does explain a lot about you demeanor.

Mixed feelings on that one. On the one hand, I don't think it's generally appropriate for a leader to use such divisive language. On the other, Bush has done serious damage to America, and threatens to do much more.

Well, yes -- technically I would be. Then again, I never doctor-shopped my way to 30,000 oxycontin pills either.

Oh but anyway - whatever happened with that whole Rush thing? Have they thought up a new charge yet? Take your answer to a different thread please:D
I don't know, and frankly I don't care. Wait, are you suggesting I shouldn't dillute the importance of a "F Bush" thread with my tangents on Rush and his drug problem? If you say so, but somehow I thought you might appreciate the distraction.

Anyway - no Rush is a Conservative and has criticized Bush on many things. One thing Rush will never do, is turn into a liberal. If they couldn't turn him in rehab - then it won't ever happen;)
Rush may not turn liberal, but when it comes to spending, Bush sure seems to be. Increasing the funding of the NEA? What's next? Calling in the "Queer Eye" boys for a weekend makeover? Lunch with Hillary? Man, oh man . . .

Either. Why? Because if Kerry or Dean proposed this, the GOP congress would fight them on it and it wouldn't pass. But since Bush is proposing it, the GOP congress will rubber stamp it. So the result with a liberal president and conservative congress would be more to the conservatives liking.
