I plan to buy a new f-150

Today I found 4.2L V6 automatic for $14500 before taxes
I wanna buy the cheapest one possible (automatic is a must tho)

So V8 or 2004 is out of question

what do you think about this price

You could probably do a lot better than $14.5 before taxes. Regular cab or super? I've seen regular cab V6's all the time for about $12.5 in the paper.

I got a MT 03' V6 reg cab for 12,800 including taxes, you should be able to snag an auto transmission for about 1K more...

Do you have to have a ford?? Go look at a GMC or chevy. GM has the $4000 off / 0%. Real cheap and a better truck.

Sounds like a damn good deal to me for a full sized truck. Is it striped XL or what?

Has to be. You aren't going to find one much cheaper than that. Send me the sticker price and I can tell you about what the invoice price is.

Better yet, ask to see the invoice and then tell them you'll pay that for the truck, then subtract the rebates.

How are you paying?

I never recommend buying new. What i do is go to dealer auctions on a weekday with a little dealer I knows licence (he charges me $500) and buy 1 year old. You get crazy deals there. I got a 38K truck for around 22K 1 year old. I got a 26K car for 16K one year old. And so on.

But it sounds good for new.:)

Ford is changing body styles in 2004. If you buy 2003 it will drop in value very quickly.

Here's the cheapest one I could find in my region:
Sticker: 17,750.00

Invoice: 16,015.08

So that's about how much mark up you have at this dollar amount.

If you assume they'll sell it to you for invoice, then you can start subtracting the rebates. Rebates and finance rates vary by region, but it's easy to see how you could get to 14k or so if they have any decent programs right now.

Ask to see the invoice, and tell them you'll pay that amount, minus rebates. Some dealers won't do that, especially if they are small ones, but many will.

Either way, it sounds like you are getting a good price.

202 with 254 torque.

The v6 is surprisingly good. That's what I have and I test drove the 4.6 v8 then the v6 and couldn't feel that big of a difference in power.

HP ? ya whatever. Torque is all I care about. Especiallly in a truck. And you want it flat as possible.

also ford offers:

Lease Loyalty Bonus

For returning lease customers, loyalty bonuses of up to $1,000 are available. The bonuses can be applied toward a new 2002 or 2003 lease or retail purchase and can be combined with the cash rebates or financing rates being offered.

Do you know what torque and hp are? Would you like to have an engine with 1000lb/ft of torque with a 1500rpm redline?

A buddy of mine JUST got a new F150 yesterday in fact for $13k....it was V6, MT, but had extended cab. Think the only options it has are tilt/cruise and carpet/floor mats.
