EZCD w/ XP?

I'm trying to decide what CD burning software to get for a newbie friend w/ a Plex 16x. Thought of EZCD because of it's simplicity, but I hear it doesn't work, may keep the system from booting, or is simply slow burning w/ XP. Thought Nero might be too difficult. Suggestions?

Also as far as CD/mp3 rip/burn/play software, what about any of the two above, MusicMatch Jukebox, Audiograbber, Real Jukebox(?), etc.? Are they all about the same?

I am using EZCD 5.0 with the patch from Roxio and I am using WinXP and it runs fine on my system. I tried Nero and I just prefer EZCD. I also use MusicMatch to covert my mp3's to audio cd's to play in my car.

Hope this helps

yeah, you need at least version 5 of easy cd to work in xp

nero is really not that complicated, though, and is super powerful. i suggest playing around with it and you'll find it's the best choice

just use nero, its way better...as for mp3 rippers, get CDex, it rocks and its free and light, not like bloated musicmatch

EZCD 5 will work fine for XP but you might want to try NERO as well to see which one you like better... I've used both and I prefer NERO better andI've had more luck backing up software with NERO compared to EZCD

As I said, this is for a friend that's new w/ PC's. I've used Nero for awhile, but thought it might be a little difficult for this person. Maybe not. I haven't used EZCD since 3.5a.

Try Click n' Burn. If the EZCD is anything before 5.0, you're gonig to have to buy a new program anyways.

I'm still seeing conflicting reports about EZCD w/ WinXP, even w/ the patches. Seems like it's hit or miss.
