ez plug needed no matter what?

According to ASUS yes.

Yes, according to the motherboard it does. In actuality, maybe not if you are not running 6800GT's or Ultras. The manual just says the red light will come on if you don't plug it in and "the system will be unstable."

ok, I was assuming it was only needed if using a 20pin psu, looks like that is not true... thanks!
