EZ-Plug necessary on A8N-SLI Deluxe?

I just connected a second 7800GT to run SLI on my ASUS A8N SLI-Deluxe. It now says something like "please connect the EZ-plug on your motherboard" when I turn the computer on. I've made a little research about it and apparently this plug is there to supply the motherboard with some extra power for when you use two video cards. I also read that it's not working as well as it's supposed to, so I'm a little confused. Should I connect this or not? I have power cables connected to both video cards already. My powersupply is the Seasonic S12 600W.

Generally if you have a molex already going to each of your cards, it's all you need to do. Consider that my Asus AR832-MVP says it has the EZplug, it tells me to plug it in but I HAVE NO EZplug on my board LOL.

Anyhow honestly, you can try with and without... run some benchmarks to stress the video system, monitor your voltages and temps and see if you have any issues. I was reading that really that plug was intended if the video cards did not come with power connectors on the cards... so in other words that EZ plug was there to provide a bit more power to the PCI-e slots.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought. I think I'll just skip it and deactivate the warning in BIOS. Thanks for the help!

Unless you are at a shortage of Molex connectors (or don't want to mess up your cable-gami), there's no real reason not to. But I would wager you can get by without.
