OK, so I'm making out some note cards for Monday and I have Eyes Wide Shut on in the background (never seen it before). Anyway, WTF is up with this movie?? Is there a point at all??

It is a film that is supposed to make you think . . . I THINK I hated it. 😀

Actually it is an exercise in unreality . . . it had some promise but then it looks like something got lost on the way to the editing room.
 
I think this movie is about Kubrick and Cruise ego.
Making movie out of spite and for their own reason.
Viewer are not suppose to get it.
Go watch Mullholland Dr. instead.
 
Not sure. I've never seen it before and saw it was on and thought I'd give it a try.

Very strange.

Seems like a lot to go through to cheat on one's wife (which seems to be the point of this movie).
 
I really like David Lynch, but Mulholland Drive was the same "circular" story/style as Lost Highway.........I was disappointed, but it was still a great movie.
 
heh i saw that on opening day. a movie like this is probably best watched while not writing on note cards heh.

I just saw it too 🙂 first time. I actually thought that it was pretty interesting.

Like, he was being tormented by the fact that his wife had these extreme thoughts/dreams about cheating on him (and not just cheating on him but getting a perverse pleasure out of doing so and purposely hurting him and laughing in his face while fvcking other men), and although he had never really thought about cheating before (even though he had plenty of opportunities), once she told him about her fantasy with the naval captain, what she said kept driving into his mind, and he was pushed more and more towards cheating on her, even though he never actually did. (Well, I guess he did kiss a few girls and grab that one hooker's tit, but he never got nekkid with any other women.)

Throw in a BIZARRE BIZARRE orgy scene (I'm wondering if this sort of stuff really happens?! 😕 ), some creepy music, an immigrant who whores out his daughter, and a semi-murder mystery, and you have Eyes Wide Shut. 🙂

Nicole Kidman = HOT but also = BIGTIME BITCH in this movie. It's definitely a movie about how women are evil 😀

I really liked it, of course you have to watch it and think about what's going on, at any rate
Nicole Kidman looks terrific and is as usual the best part of the film 🙂
