273 to 363... I did read slow enough to comprehend everything though. Also, the second passage was much easier, since it was written in a more contemporary english.

I have vision in only one eye, and an I.Q. of 129 (tested at Atlanta Medical) and I can only read 318 wam, with a post-test of 388.

Go me :(

I don't think I got any faster. Just got bored going through all that crap and when the last reading thing came up, skimmed more then I did the first test.

Hmm, I know some of these things are supposed to work...but the first reading was with tons of commas and punctuation etc, then the second was much smoother.

I think any program that will work takes a lot more time to change how you read. So the program might actually work, but for the sample it looks like its just a gimmick.

yea i pretty much just got bored and stopped paying attention, also the second passage flowed much better, sentences weren't as broken and "textbookish"

which is why i went back to reread the first passage, and still had improved results

I think it's kind of a combination of placebo effect, getting your eyes warmed up, and slightly easier 2nd passage than 1st. So you add all that up and almost everyone has decent "improvement."

I've taken speed reading courses int he past...it's all about looking at the words and not actually reading them but still comprehending them.
