Hmm, I'd say making a comment that Anand doesn't know how to assemble a PC qualifies them for a "prick of the week" award.

What do you think?

Jealousy?

Anand Lal Shimpi stopped by to say hi during the contest, and of course he left our kiosk machines pointing to his home page. Thanks, Anand; we'd do the same for you. Somebody suggested a private machine-building showdown between Anand and me, but I have it on good authority that Anand does all his testing on bare mobos, and only knows how to take screws out.

Sounds like good-natured ribbing to me....

Machine-building showdown? What kind of gay-ass SH*T is that? A stupid contest wouldn't prove a thing. I bet HE was the one who suggested it to himself.

Severe jealousy.

Those Extremetech people are frighteningly excited about building computers.

That comment is entirely unnecessary, but if it was just a good-natured ribbing then no harm done, I'm sure Anand can give out a few good ribs of his own. :)

Besides, Anand doesn't have to prove himself to anybody, just look at Anandtech, he and his team have done a great job.

Well, he's got a point.

If you don't have the experience of seting up a system inside of a case, then it can be a little trickier than just on an open mobo.

You people act as if Anand it infallable or something.

ExtremeTech seems to have taken their layout almost directly from Anandtech. I wonder if Anand gets a kickback for helping them design their layout. ;)

Of course he's not infallable. I think we're all just acting based on loyalty. :)

ExtremeTech seems to have taken their layout almost directly from Anandtech.

Sorry, I don't see the similarity . . .

Extreme Tech is Ziff Davis' attempt to jump on the bandwagon of Hard OCP, Maximum PC, etc. They work for Ziff Davis . . . of course they're going to suck and have stupid crap on their site. I'm surprised you even wasted the bandwidth to visit them. ;)

The proof is in the pudding here fellas. Before this thread, I've never heard of Extremetech. Apparently Anand doesn't have to be good at putting together a PC to walk all over th competition.

Hey, I was there looking for information they might have had on "struts". Anand doesn't do software evals.

I liked the article they did a while back comparing .net with J2EE. They were pretty much on target with their article.

And yes, of course I know it was a joke, but I thought some fellow anandtechies might get a kick out of the rivalry they (extremetech) are trying to build.

It might be of note that in a previous anouncement about their opening, they referred to other tech boards as "amateurish", and yes, it was a veiled reference to this board.

Xerox, their technical hardware articles seem to me to be a direct ripoff in style, if not substance, as ATs. I offer this article as proof: Coincidence?

Imitation is the best form of flattery, I suppose.

I just saw an Extremetech banner in the forums, if that's not a sign of who's owning who, I don't know what is.
