Ok when I formatted my hard drive about a year ago I split it into two drives ; C drive and D drive. D drive has 190 gigs on it and is for my downloads, games, music, all kinds of files and programs. C drive is for windows programs and files only. Recently I am not able to install new programs to my D drive but I can to my C drive. I can put songs and videos and images on my d drive but any file of program that requires installation will not install in d. I am stupefied on this. I can still use all my installed D drive programs i just cant add more for some reason. Ive done error check and other test and no errors have been found. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would be greatly appreciative!

Check your permissions, or make sure you have taken ownership of the drive.
That is one possibility.

Right click drive in explorer.
properties
security
click on your user name
advanced
owner
highlight your name and tick box
ok
come out of it. may take some time.
Right click drive again
properties
security
find your user name
make sure that the top box on the left (allow) column is ticked.
ok- may take some time.
try again.
