This is basically stemming from a really wierd conversation at work about camping

It would work the same as if it was inside.

but would'nt there be an issue with the outside of the oven if it was very cold and the inside having a vastly different temperature. it seems like the difference in temperatures would render the oven unstable. of course this is all just guessing

again, read on how a mircowave works! It does not extract the heat from outside or share any similar ways a refrigerator works. It heats the item with mirco waves similar to how the sun heats your skin.
 
ah crap..out of memory error.

sun heats us with infrared.

microwave works by vibrating molecules of water. (oh i said vibrate)
