Extremely Slow FPS with R9800Pro

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb, I bought it pretty much when it just came out. And I played CS ever since I bought it. I used V-sync and my framrate is 75 constantly cause I have a Lcd monitor.
the performance only slow down when I play in big server with 32 players on screen. The fps jumped from 75 to around 50.

I think you should return the card and get another one. I think it's the card.

I bought it from FS/FT and I dont think its the card. I think i'm being affected by the HL/CS/ATI issue at hand and gonna try the things suggested when I get home later tonite. When I receive Rainbow Six 3 in a few days I'll see whether it's really the card that's defective or an issue at hand.

You really need to try another game to make sure it really is the bug you think you have....

played UT2K3 w/ my 9800Pro for the first time ... tho I had the card for 2 weeks +

Raven Shield is based on UT2K3 so that's good to hear. What's bad to hear is that ATI screwed everyone that has any love for still the most popular (not to mention 5 year old) game on the net.

ATi hasn't screwed me at all. i can run cs at 100 fps constant with my 9500. there is something wrong with your settings. don't blame company for user error =\

well, it just shows how much you know about this problem...NOTHING!

Your GF2 won't run Ut2k3 or HL2 when released will it? Maybe at 640x480 16bit minimum detail.
