Ok.... So I'm in a new case revison, and replaced some LEDs, and adding a LCD screen. Also overhauling and reinstalling software inclduing the operating system.

So anyway I'm waitting for some epoxy to dry and I am reinstalling windows with the case still open Having issues installing windows. So I am sitting here for a good 5 mintues wondering whats up. Anyway I hear a krackling sound. I was looking around, at first I thought OH S*#T my watercooling sprung a leak. I look further and see OH F(#* my LEDs for my watercooling pumps fans etc are off. So I jank the power plug. And the waterblock and tubes going to it are burning hot. So now I'm at the point AWWW DA#%*% I burned my CPU. So I manually start up the water pumps to cool it down (setup a relay switch so it is only on while the computer is on).

So anyway after about 5 mins cooling down, and me already looking up AthlonXP prices on newegg, with my laptop, I take off the waterblock to see my prize. At first I'm like wtf? The core looks perfect, but the glue junk around the core is all burned. The socket shows no sign of damage. So I could have sworn that the the krackling was the CPU, so I'm like what the hell I put it in reconnect my watercooling and low and behold it boots perfectly!

Wow am I one lucky bastard.

Only damage is the tubing that connect the waterblock are EXTREAMLY weakened, and need to be replaced. So I'm looking at 5 bucks of cost which could have been much worse...

<< Whoops... >>

I'll second that! You're very lucky that the cpu isn't toast.
