"Extreme Makeover" Foreclosure

First and foremost, I hate those stupid fucking shows like Extreme Makeover.

Secondly, I don't understand why they took a second mortgage instead of a business loan to start her business. Maybe I am missing something here, but that seems to just be adding more risk to the starting of a new business without adding any potential advantages. What's the point?

Fixed it for ya!

Fixed some more.

These are probably the same type of people that win millions of dollars in the lottery and end up bankrupt a few years later. Even if they'd been given a million bucks on top of the free house, they would probably have ended up in the same boat.

Here's their house on zillow.com

Their house is worth several times of that of their neighbors, and they still couldn't be happy with that?

This is really one huge problem with that show. They put massive uber-houses in neighborhoods with lower priced houses. You never want to be the most expensive house on the block investment wise, because you never get your value out.

That and I don't trust any house that's built that quickly.

WTF is your point? They got a house for free and squandered it. They deserve no sympathy.

You're indirectly blaming that show for this family's foolishness. That's what's up, eh.

No he didnt. he is complaining they build these huge houses in areas where its going to be hard to sale and that they may cut corners.

Not quite sure how somebody could miss that. Especially with my post right above saying that they were foolish.

This article says they were given an additional $250k on top of the $450k. Talk about greed and lack of appreciation.

Materials and labor were donated for the home, which would have cost about $450,000 to build. Beazer Homes' employees and company partners also raised $250,000 in contributions for the family, including scholarships for the couple's three children and a home maintenance fund.
