Extreme Gaming at 146 FPS (Microsoft blog)

Wow!

In this video, Larry and Gavin go extreme by setting up a dual AMD 7970 CrossFire setup, and then showing a 3:1 1080p (5760x1080) Eyefinity setup with Battlefield 3 running on Windows 8 at up to 146 FPS!

how can a 30-60fps video show off a 146fps+ gaming system?

Quadfire 7990 running medium settings...who would spend $2k on video cards and run BF3 on Medium LOL

It was merely a test at the very end of the video. They talked about how 60 FPS was their goal, and showed it and went on and on about it, but at the end, he said, lets see what happens if we put everything on medium, and they went up to a wall to reduce some of the view and the FPS was very high. They then mentioned, as you can see it'll still be good as games get more demanding.

It stuttered on Ultra so they were like, yeah these worthless frames are what we need, 140 here we come, oh man I can't even tell the difference I'm so cool.
