Extracting .exe files

I'm trying to see if I can't get a BIOS file out of this installer (that's how Sony updates the bios, through an installer) and then edit the bios, and then put the edited bios back in the installer.

Is that possible?

WinRAR opens a lot of self-extracting EXEs. If it's a Wise installer setup program, run it with switches like this: setup /x .\extract

Putting them back in is hard.

Um, I have this .bin fine (I'm pretty sure it's the bios file)...any way I can edit that (and it should be relatively easy, but this AWARD bios editor doesnt work for me)
