Extra L2 Cache Worth $190?

I am debating between the X2 4400+ Toledo for $729 and the X2 4200+ Manchester for $539. The Toledo has 2 x 1MB L2 Cache and the Manchester has 2 x 512K cache.

Any benches between these two?

for that price difference tho... go with the 4200+.. the cache doesn't impact much (1-3% if that and only mainly in games)... not worth the 190 IMHO.

You must be looking at that fvcking rip off screwegg....You should be able to find retail 4400+'s for about 80 dollars less...as I did last week....190 is not worth the extra cache and even 100 dollar is not worth it, IMO...So go with 4200+.....

Do a froggle search or go to the X2 in stock thread and you'll find a number of places that sell the X2 4400+ for a lot less than screwegg.

i believe that is only if you get it in a combo deal...according to what MarkFW900 said when he went to their webpage...

If you're looking at the 4400 from Newegg, you should also ask yourself isn't the (in-stock) 4600 worth $95 more? Then again... that's just what they'd be expecting....

Yeah, stay away from newegg. I've decided to do an entire system overhaul and I'm going to get the combo 4400+ with A8N-E PCI-E motherboard for $680 from Monarch and then pick up a 7800GTX a couple weeks after that.

ya get the combo deal at monarch, and then sell the mobo on ebay. Def worth it.

get the cheapest which is like $79.00...

and the chip is around $530... so that puts you around $600... which is still cheaper than $640ish for retail.. and newegg and their $700+ for the 4400+
