Hi

I have an extra hdd icon in the 'computer' section of Windows 7. It is a 'Q' drive that is 0kb in size. I do not have such a drive. Drive management from control panel doesnt see it. I cant just click on it and hit 'delete'.

How can I delete the drive short cut?

Here is a screen shot:

Could we get some screenshots from Disk Management? I don't doubt what you're saying, but it's always good to be able to see everything to be able to rule things out.

Office 2010?

http://channel9.msdn.com/forums/Coffeehouse/498323-Mysterious-local-disk-Q/

"For no reason that I can think up, I suddenly have a local disk Q: in Explorer. There is no hardware associated with it, it doesn't show up in Disk Manager, it's not a network drive, and everything I try to do with it results in "access denied". Yet it stubbornly persists.

Never mind, I've figured it out. Apparently Office 2010 Click-to-Run is responsible for it. Still weird, hope the final won't have that as it'll confuse a lot of people."

Yeah I have the 2010 Beta installed... So I guess I'll just have to wait for a fix then. Thanks.

Interesting. I wonder if this is something that may confuse video game DRM that searches for virtual drives.
