Seriously I hope they can create a dinosaur park before I die. Would be so awesome. It would be way safer than Jurrassic park, they just did a lot of things wrong.

Interesting read, and perfect timing as I have to write a 2 pg paper regarding stem cell research for a tech writing class.

Tasty steaks? To piss off whiny fucking liberals? Because an extinct species deserves a 2nd chance? To show that extinct may not be forever?

wait a tic...do you consider bringing back extinct species a good use of federal money, especially if one of your chief reasons is "to piss off whiny liberals?"

:hmm:

You're talking about Agent Smith unplugged. He doesn't know what's going on. He just knows he can't abide the stink of liberals for some unknown reason. It's his programming. He does only what he was meant to.

It's a better use of federal money than a number of uses. How about using federal money for zoos? Wildlife preserves? Wilderness areas? Also watermelons have been using extinctions ESA for decades, why not use some of the billions of $$$ they've wasted to bring back actual extinct species?

Why do you hate so much Moonie? Why do you hate the poor extinct animals? Don't you think they deserve a 2nd chance?

His head will explode when he realizes he's said things that suggest that animals have some intrinsic worth beyond being a source of meat.

Extinct animals, brain dead animals, they are all the same to me. I would and will give them chance after chance because I love you.

Hell with the Dodo, let's bring back the Moa and Haast's Eagle
Works for me.

As long as they keep them down under. Don't want no thirty pound eagles diving on my ass at 50 mph because they can't find any 500 pound birds to attack.

Of course there is, valuable skins and a new source of available ivory. Come on don't you think mammoth ivory would make awesome grips for my 1911? If, of course I hadn't lost that 1911 in a tragic boating accident.

I'm entirely confused here. For what reason would bringing back an extinct species upset liberals? I tend to consider myself a pretty liberal guy and I think that is one of the absolute best things we could be doing.

Because for some reason Gardener really seemed opposed to the idea.

I hope that they succeed. Life is a lot more resilient than most people think and given a chance will survive.

Beats me, I personally love the idea. I just think we have to be careful with how it is implemented. Anything long extinct likely isn't going to fit well into the modern ecosystem and if you thought hitting a deer on the freeway was bad then you're going to love running into a mastodon.

I was thinking this too. knowing our luck we would bring back a frog we think is small but grows 20ft tall and eats people.

Well . . . We do have a LOT of people. And quite frankly, some of these people would only make the world a better place were they to be eaten by giant frogs. Instead of worrying about these tiny frogs growing to SyFi channel size, let's start making our lists just in case.

C'mon, we are all thinking it.
