external wire management?

my wife is making me buy a new desk and get rid of my old cheapy-looking comp desk.

I really liked my old one 'cuz it had a few shelves & spots for various items. Also, i used 2sided tape to attach my router, switch, VOIP box, & cable modem vertically to the right outer side of the desk. And used 2sided tape to attach my Philips Aurilium horizontally underneath my 2nd shelf - within easy reaching distance for headphones, mic etc...

The new desk is an executive style desk - (approx) 6' wide x 3' deep. The surface is completely flat, and it has drawers on either side.

i have no clue how i'm going to run all my wires. Everything seems so exposed. I have a ton of peripherals that need their wires run to the PC/monitor.

any ideas? how are you managing all your wires/cables?

Let's see - I have the computer under the desk - and it connects to the monitor, 2 external burners, a scanner, a printer, wto external hard drives, a digitizing pad, a mouse, keyboard, 2 media readers, a fingerprint reader, and a couple of lamps, and a 2 line phone, a dedicated fax, and two power boxes and a UPS. Just about all the wires are out of sight - between the disk (a corner model with upper bookcases), or on the floor under and behind things. Here's a look:

Too much arranging and neatness with wires and cables can lead to EMI. The random jumble works for me - especially where I don't look. 🙂
