i saw this when i bought the $3 usb drive. i need a 2.5 sata enclosure so i bought it, but i dont like crappy ones either. hope this one works, if it does ill be mad i didnt buy more.

bought this a few weeks back when it was last on sale, drive is detected in windows, gives errors copying to and from it. the circuit board is only attached by the sata connectors and doesn't seem very secure. when i got it it came with a $3 credit so was only a buck. wasn't worth rma'ing

hitatchi 160 drive installed (fast shipping) and i can put a 500mb video on the drive in 20 seconds, and take the same file off the drive in 10 seconds. not bad at all.

they even give you an extra screw and a screwdriver to put it together with. the tiny screws are the suck, but at least they make it as painless as they could. the drive itself seems durable enough, it doesnt seem totally cheap anyway. well have to see as time goes by if it continues to function the same.

Got mine yesterday. It looks exactly like the one I got 7+ years ago for a PATA 40GB 5400 RPM notebook drive. The only difference is that this new one has SATA interface and now powers a 320GB 7200 RPM drive. The included USB cable has a Y-split at one end so that it can draw power from 2 USB ports. With my old 40GB drive, it does not need both USB ports to be connected. With the 320GB drive, I need 2 USB ports to power the drive. This is something to consider for laptop users.
