External Power Switch

Does anyone know where I can buy an external power switch so I don't have to open my Antec door all the time? All I found was the military switch version which cost too much.

I was thinking more of a push button, preferably one that plugs right into the board since I'm not good with electronics.

Why don't you set your BIOS to wake on keyboard?

My crappy ECS N2U400-A doesn't seem to have that option.

Re. Does anyone?

I'm anyone 😀. Allelectronics.com, #PB-139 might be what your looking for.
Costs a buck and they will ship uninsured USPS=cheap and not that slow for you because they are in Burbank. I'm in Long Beach and an order gets to me in three days if i order early.
Look around thier site, it is cool stuff they have.

Wow sorry I'm slightly surprised your board doesn't have wake on keyboard...

Anyways, Digikey has all sorts of switches and stuff, good prices etc.

You'll need a momentary normally open switch, and to connect it you can run it in parallel with the normal switch. You can cut into the wires or find a connector at Digikey as well.

Good luck!

I think I'll just get the one from Allelectronics since Digikey doesn't seem to have pics and it's hard to navigate. Any hints to what the wires and connectors are that would plug right into the mobo? If not I can just cannibalize a wire and connector from another case. Thanks for the help guys.

Digikey has their catalogue in pdf format, it's about 55MB and has all of their stuff.

Anyways, as far as the connector for the motherboard header, if you have access to an old case it would be the best. Finding the right size might be a pain.
