external power source?

does anyone know which ATI/nVidia cards require external power sources? Also, when they release their PCI Express counterparts, will they still require an external power source?
 
The ATI 9700/9800 cards, and (I think) the GeForce FX 5900-based parts require an external power input. PCI Express x16 is supposed to be able to supply more power to cards than AGP, so hopefully the new cards will not need an extra power connector.
