I have 2 USB 2.0 40gb drives. I am using WinXP home. Both formated NTFS. Both connected to my USB 2.0 PC card.

Everything works fine EXCEPT the transfering of files between the both drives. It takes 5-6hrs just to transfer 2gb of data.

Nothing is wrong with my PC Card nor my External drives. I suspect settings on my WinXP.

Pls help, thanks.

You could do it faster by copying one drive to a cache on your regular HDD - then copy from it to the other USB drive. USB 2 data transfer to itself ain't all that great.

i am sure the cables provided by the manufacturer are USB 2.0, but i will double check later.

How do i copy it to a cache on my regular HDD? My regular HDD is only 20GB! 🙁

Are they 2.5" drives?

Well you 'kinda' implied earlier that it was 2gb of data you were trying to copy. And you could do it in chunks.

How do i copy to a cache? Just copy alittle by alittle to my HDD and then to my other external HDD?

i think they are regular HDDs in enclosures, one is anyway, the other i am not sure.
