External HDD Recommendation?

Looking for a 640GB or up external to store movies, games, music, ect. The problem is I don't know much about externals, IE which companies produce quality external HDDs, what interface works better for them.

Looking to grab it off the egg for 100$ tops if possible.
 
Buy your favorite flavor and size of HD, buy a decent 3.5" external case with the interfaces you desire and put the drive into the case.

You have just created an external HDD that has a 3-5 yr warranty and you can remove the drive from the case for troubleshooting without voiding any warranty.

Soo easy a caveman could do it. 😉
