Hi guys,

I've been using one of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...f9_Po1FiV4BhbF_QgfJccaAtZV8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

I've got it loaded with 3TB hdd's and it is almost full (HTPC) Can anybody recommend me a new enclosure with USB 3.0 support and the ability to recognize 5TB or higher hdds ? I don't mind if it's a little bulky and I prefer one with active cooling, RAID capabilities is NOT needed, I don't mind spending a little money. Thanks !

Edit: Found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G3434946&ignorebbr=1 Seems like it fits the ticket. Not looking forward to shelling out 750$ for HDD's though.

$1000 for 24TB is pretty good. 2TB is about $100 so you're not over-paying.

The problem with USB interfaces are they do sector translations so drives larger than 2TB will work with MBR. So you need to ask if they are direct pass through or is it translated. I have both and I prefer the one without any translation so I can hook up the drive to the computer and be able to access the data. The other interface will show an empty drive. I think if it comes with eSata interface as well then it is most likely pass through. But you got to make sure other wise if something happens to the USB port, you cant access the data at all without an indentical inerface.
