External Hard Drive Temps

I have an external Coolgear SATA case running a 250 GB WD HD. The HD ran all day long at 37 degrees when it was installed in my case. When running and connected to an external Sata port, Hard Disc Sentinel reports a temp. of 50 degrees. It would probably go higher if I ran it longer. I bought this case because the enclosure had a fan to keep the HD cool.....soo much for that! Does anybody have any suggestions for a cooler running external case?

External cases will always run warmer since they are more confined in space, and have less airflow. I don't think 50 is anything to worry about. Then again, you might not want to be running it all day. Is it just powered on, or actually transferring all day?

Right on! Further - external drives are generally all hot pluggable and only need to be run when needed.

It was just powered on. I may have written to it a coupla times, but hardly nothing. The temps just continued to rise and took about 3-4 hours to get to 50 degrees.
I searched for an Sata aluminum external case with fan but found nothing.
