external hard drive enclosure

a friend of mine needs an external hard-drive for his USB-less eMac. i brought up that it may be a better deal to get an external enclosure (if they make them???) and put a standard hard drive in there. is this true? do they make these with firewire interfaces? if not, could someone recommend a good external hard-drive with firewire support? there isnt much info out there on the web about them.

yes, they make firewire external enclosures. you can get them with usb2 and firewire for around $50 or less, depending on the size of the enclosure.

An added bonus is that they are also hot-swapable.

i stumbled on one that a fellow forum member recommended.....newegg....i prefered one with built-in cooling fan as well as being both firewire and usb2 was nice.
