I recently found a ribbon adapter that allows for adding an external video card.
I just purchased a Dell Wyse 5070, non wide version, so there is no pcie slot soldered to the motherboard.
There IS an m.2 E keyed wifi slot, that is essentially a 2 channel miniature pci express channel. For about $7, I can get a PCI-E slot that will plug
into it using a ribbon, and it will let you add a video card externally.
Can anyone recommend a video card that draws no more than about 20 to 25 Watts? I would prefer a completely silent one with a huge heatsink on it. I would like at least 2X to 3X the performance of the current onboard Intel UHD 600 graphics - which has roughly a G3D mark score of 320.
Would a GT 1030, running at roughly 30 Watts, & giving performance of 2,480 G3D marks, be about the best that I can do?
