External enclosure not reading drive properly

Heres my issue. My external enclosure worked just fine for a 40gb seagate I have but the 250gb maxtor is reading wrong. When I go to computer mgmt it is listed as disk 1 and online, but it wont assign a drive letter. When I right click on it it only gives me the option to delete the partition. Also it only shows one of the partitions on the drive(117gb). The Maxtor has been taken out of my PC and was partitioned into probably 3 drives. ANy suggestions other than deleting the partition? TIA
