Hi guys,
I have Antec 900 case Antec TruPower Quattro 850 PSU. For those who have seen Ninehundred you may know that the power supply is mounted at the bottom. Because of this the 12V CPU power cable is barely long enough to reach the connector (located at top-left corner of my mobo). As it is I run the cable through the little tight spot between PCI-E slot and the backplate of my case. This is somewhat tight so I'd like to extend the cable to keep it out of the way.
This is what its like now: Linky
This is what I would like to do: Linky
I intend to gut the current 8pin cable and use some of the other I have left over to extend it (the PSU is modular and I only use two other cables besides the stuff that is built in). Does anyone foresee any issues?
Also as I understand 8 pin 12V connectors are used by dual-CPU motherboards, however last two mobos I've had had the 8 pin connector instead of the 4 pin. Is there a reason for this?
