Extended warranty options? For my Audi

Can you get an extended warranty, after your factory is up, and your pre-owned cert warranty is about to be up?

2005.5 audi A4 2.0T 6 speed/manual. I have not heard of many people needing to replace engines/transmissions, so I don't know if it'd be worthwhile/cost effective to get one.

We had to replace tranny on our 06 grand cherokee, and that warranty paid for itself...2fold.

any thoughts on the idea?

I had an extended (lifetime) warranty through Geico for $7/month on my GLi, and Civic. They wouldn't warrant my RX-8 because it was used.

$7 a month would be cheap...what kind of warranty is that? I have never heard of one through an insurance company.
