Extend pc out of pc room

Is there a device that will allow you to extend the pc tower out of a room about 25 to 50 feet or more while still being able to use the monitor, keyboard, and mouse?

I am looking for something like a laptop can use but instead for a pc tower.

You can pick up PS/2, USB, DVI and VGA cable extensions at Fry's, Radio Shack, etc. Bind them together with some sort of wire management tube or foot protector and you're good to go.

You can buy 50' monitor cables, and 50' usb cables. Not cheap, but you can buy them.

everything that doesn't involve longer cables will induce some sort of lag.

I don't this is really true, pretty much anything in the logitech mx series should be fine as long as it isn't very far away.

Extension cables. I have to ask... why?

I suppose you don't think you'll need to access your optical drive at all? Why not try and HTPC case/rig?

Wouldn't it be simpler just to get an extra fan or air conditioner for your PC room?

We used a longview extender to put a computer in a hazardous environment.

Expensive but it was the best solution for our situation.

Thats really cool and cheaper than a portable AC !

I misspoke a little. We put the sealed display in the hazardous environment and kept the computer in a computer room.

Just having to run one cat 5 cable was the main advantage of this solution.

There are other companies that offer similar products, this was just the one that I was familiar with.

You realise that the room you put the PC into will no longer just be a cool room but a room with a heat-generating PC in it, right? Are you sure you're not just moving the problem somewhere else?

well that room has two heating device right now, him and the pc. take the pc out and you have cut the heat in half possibly. 2 minus one doesnt equal 2. am i high?
