Extend network using wired router

This is what i have right now:

Cable modem connect to a Netgear wireless router with 4 ports switch. I have 1 long ethernet cable running into 1 computer in the other room. Now I need to add 2 more computers in that same room and I don't want to run the cables again nor using wireless connection.
I have a spare wired router laying around. Now how do I make that router to act as a regular switch using the existing long cable? Or I am better off buying a switch?
Thanks for all the help
