The Rage 128 Pro graphics accelerator was the final revision of the Rage architecture and last use of the Rage brand. While the next iteration was initially codenamed Rage 6, ATI decided to rename it Radeon.

Gotta admit, considering the kind of market these products are aimed at the name seems pretty perfect. Plus other gaming oriented PC products have pretty aggressive names too and they seem to sell pretty fine.

Perhaps they should have called it the Radeon Buttercup? I sure it would have sold far better with that name. /s

Personally I love the name Fury. I liked the old Rage branding, and I owned a few. Fury is a great name.

Just like I was gung-ho to buy a Radeon HD 9x00 card solely on the name, the same feeling sort of applies for a "Fury" or even "Rage."

Of course, if the price is $1,000 they can suck an egg haha.

Fury is a great name for a halo product line. Nostalgia kicks in and also strong sounding. I think AMD is going to up-end Titan X in performance where 4gb vram isn't a bottle neck.
