ExpressCard Cards?

If ExpressCards are going to be the new pcmcia standard then where are all the cards for them? Looking around at Newegg etc there are only a handfull of cards out there mostly by SIIG which are mainly firewire cards. Are they going to start making advanced sound cards and other devices for this new standard?

Eventually, yes.

Like PCI-Express x1, adoption of the standard by manufacturers has been sluggish. This is probably due at least in part to the fact that PC Card still strongly dominates the installed base. But gradually, ExpressCard is making headway.

I have a SIIG 5-in-1 expresscard/34 card reader for my MacBookPro. Works pretty well, although it's kinda expensive for being just a card reader. But I like it since it sits almost flush with the rest of the laptop.
What I would really like though, is an eSATA-II card and an external eSATA enclosure. Supposed to be faster than even firewire 800.

i'm about to purchase an External SATA ExpressCard Adapter, but i really want a damn sound card in expresscard form
