I dont like it, but maybe its just me...I mean its the National league and a team named the Nationals

something about that i just dont like...the names are too similar i guess
 
It's just another attempt to cash in on the faux patriotism. I guess it's ok, I mean it is the National capitol.

I can see why that name was chosen, but if I had any say I would not have used that name. I am not sure what would be a good name, The Senators is decent, but again I would not have chosen the Nationals.

yeah i think it would be a fine name if the league wasnt already called the national league.

at the all-star game
playing __ for the National League from the Nationals ...

sounds really bad

The expos with money will be very good. I don't think you realize the number of excellent players that the Expos dumped once they became good because they couldn't afford them...

True, but money plus good management DOES equal success. Can you imagine what would happen if the A's were given a top 10 payroll?

He's saying that the expos had plenty of talent, they just couldn't afford to keep it all. If the expos would have had to money to sign the players mentioned above, they probably would have been a lot better.

And as far as the Washington Nationals go, 5 years from now everyone will be used to the name and no one will care.
 
I hate Bud Selig as much as I hate David Stern, and that's a considerable amount. If I were a terrorist I'd say fvck Bush/Cheney in the same room and go right for Selig/Stern in the same room.
 
I like it. Nationals. It has an antiquated, old school ring to it. Perfect for the grand old game.

Plus, history hasn't been kind to teams renamed the Senators. Every time, they find they can't get a quorum in their own ballpark, and they up and redistrict themselves (see Rangers, Twins).
