Explorer problem in XP Pro

This problem just started happening for no appearent reason. When using Windows explorer and I try to open a folder by double clicking it in the RIGHT pane, instead of opening it starts the "search" app., kinda like if I just selected the folder (single click) and then ran a search on it. I tried changing the settings to open on a single click, but it does the same thing. I can open the folders normally in the left pane. Does anyone know how to fix this?
 
Yes I have, I've tried restoring defaults on everything I can think of. I have x-setup and can't find any setting regarding this in there either, I am truely stumped!
