explorer.exe using 40megs plus of RAM!

The problem started last night, and i thought i fixed it cause the computer was working ok until just now when it started again. I ran my anti virus, and adaware, spybot, and spy doctor, and spy sweeper, and still no luck. I googled the problem too and was able to find some stuff but none of it was the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way i am running windows XP.
