system config:
athlon 2000
A7N266-vm
512+256MB transcend memory
120 gb seagate(7200rpm)
Windows xp sp2

tried norton and avg both fr any viruses....
all xp updates downloaded and installed frm windows update site

Usual tests:
Memtest
Prime95

And spyware apps:
Lavasoft Adaware
Spybot
CWShredder v2.13
Note, there are variants of CWS, may its authors rot in hell, that CWShredder is unable to remove. It's a very sophisicated strain of spyware, and I can see many ways in which it could get even worse, and I'm not a programmer, so I shudder to think what the scum who write it might come up with.

thanks dude.......it was an older version of divx codec which was creating this problem.........i guess sp2 and divx has some issues
