I really need help on this one!!
I am running an Abit KT7A/1.2 Gig Athlon with 256 Mem machine I just put together. The HD is a 40 Gig Caviar with a Nvidia Riva TNT2 video card. I have yet to install the sound and modem. My problem is this:
After formating the HD and installing Win98 4.10.1998 (upgrade), usually the first boot and sparatically after that, I recieve this error at the start-up of windows which makes it impossible to shut down without reseting:
EXPLORER - An error has accurred in your program...CLOSE/IGNORE
Regardless of the button pushed (CLOSE/IGNORE), I get the next error box:
EXPLORER - This program has performed an illegal operation...DETAIL - Explorer executed an invalid instruction in module DIBENG.DLL at...
These errors just loop with eachother making it impossible to do any troubleshooting in windows. This will sometimes happen in SAFE MODE also.
I have tried installng the drivers that came with the mother board (AGP) for the KT133A chipset to no avail.
Could someone please help since this will be the system I will use to keep in touch with my daughters while stationed in Korea this next year!! Thank you.
